I am an IT technician who works in West Yorkshire, England. I have over a years experience working in an IT role and many years experience using computers and other similar devices. I am always willing to develop my IT knowledge and learn new things where I can. I have an Distinction* in A-Level ICT and experience working with Windows Server, Linux and python. I am still in the early stages of my IT Technician career and intend to develop further.

As an IT Technician I regularly work under challenging situations where I have to think on my feet and under pressure. I have to think of the best solutions to issues and try and come up with these without inconveniencing the user too much. I often work with Windows but use other operating systems such as Chromebooks and Macs. I also have experience of Ubuntu, Raspberry Pi and other Linux Operating Systems. I also regularly use Windows Server and Windows 10/11. I have experience using HTML and other languages, I am continuing to learn other languages. This website is one of my early HTML projects.

The jobs that I undertake as a Facilities Assistant include roles such as cleaning the premises on an evening, opening and closing the premises ensuring it is locked and secure. Other roles include helping to organise and support lettings when they use the premises and ensuring the site is cleaned and that all the bins are emptied.

This role includes jobs such as helping to look after the children and to run the activities. These activities include a range of different games including active sport style games. Other things I help to run are activities that could help people throughout their life such as orienteering. We also take the Scouts on regular day trips and camping trips. ChatGPT An advanced language model developed by OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text based on a prompt and is useful for conversational AI applications and various language-related tasks.
Stack Overflow A question and answer platform for developers. It is a vast knowledge base of questions and answers related to programming and technology, and is useful for finding answers to specific coding problems and learning new technologies and programming languages.
Spiceworks A professional network for IT professionals. It provides a platform for IT professionals to connect, share information and knowledge, and collaborate on IT projects. It is useful for finding solutions to IT problems, getting advice on IT projects, and staying up-to-date on the latest IT news and trends.
W3Schools A web development platform that provides tutorials and reference materials for web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and others. It is useful for learning web development and for reference purposes when building and maintaining websites.

Microsoft MDT

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) is a free tool that automates and simplifies the process of deploying Windows operating systems and other Microsoft products on multiple computers in an organization.

Active Directory Windows

Active directory is where the permissions of users are set and all of the accounts of users are held. With the appropriate permission admins can also use this to create new users change account settings and disable/delete user accounts of people who have left.

Linux and Virtualisation

Linux is another OS. Virtualisation is the process of running different virtual machines that can run and act independently of each other but all share the same resources of the physical host such as its RAM and Processing Power.

My Skills and Experience with Linux and Virtualisation:

I have created servers that are both Physical and virtual that run Linux. My main one is a server I built using an HP ProLiant that is running Proxmox. This homes many of VM’s and is something I use on a day to day basis. I have also used other Linux platform’s such as Ubuntu to run websites and Ubuntu Desktop to run a file backup. I also used Homeassistant at home to control and run some of my smart products

I have started using docker in my home network and have become experienced using Docker Compose and Portianer to manage my network. I have experience and knowledge now in writing compose.yml scripts and using this.
